Abstract:

Lactation consultants and other breastfeeding helpers often find themselves in the uncomfortable position of disagreeing with a client's healthcare provider. No matter what the discipline or the nature of the disagreement, it can be very difficult to address in the moment at a consultation. It's even more treacherous when the HCP is the one who referred the client to you in the first place. How do you continue your great relationship with the provider? How do you help your client without being antagonistic? How do you maintain your client's trust in both you and her provider? In this presentation, Renee will share her journey with these tricky issues.
